Wells Book Arts Summer Student Scholarships

The Wells Book Arts Center invites CBAA Student Members to apply for a scholarship for the Wells Book Arts Summer Institute 2020. Our program offers week-long intensive courses on the historic and beautiful campus of Wells College in Aurora, NY. Summer Institute 2020 boasts a wide-range of course offerings including letterpress printing and press maintenance, hand bookbinding and box-making, artists’ book conceptualization and production methods, lettering, large-scale papermaking, and papyrus techniques. This year, we’re pleased to celebrate the expansive definition of Book Arts to incorporate workshops in experimental photographic processes and multiple workshops that promote the collaboration between writers and printers.

The scholarship offers a current CBAA Student Member free tuition ($1000) and free housing/meals for one week-long workshop ($600). The scholarship does not cover transportation costs. The student member should indicate on the general scholarship application that they are a current CBAA member and select the top three courses that they are interested in participating in. Their preference will be honored based upon availability of space within the course.

 Session 2: Sunday, July 19 to Saturday, July 25, 2020
Session 1: Sunday, July 12 to Saturday, July 18, 2020
