In conjunction with the College Book Art Association's (CBAA) Rising Together, an exhibition of artist books, prints and zines with a social conscience, CBAA is sponsoring a micro-grant program. The purpose of the CBAA Rising Together Micro-Grant program is to provide financial support that will enable current CBAA members and non members to teach zine-making workshops in non-university settings. CBAA will award these $100 micro-grants in an effort to share book making knowledge with non-traditional book arts audiences and encourage broad participation in the Rising Together Zine Archive, a digital exhibit of zines about social justice issues. Funding priority will be given to those who propose zine-making workshops that center and amplify BIPOC voices and/or serve BIPOC audiences. Grant awardees will additionally be given the option of a free 2021 Student or Regular level membership.

WHO: Open to all current CBAA members and non members

WHERE: Grant recipients must commit to teaching a free zine-making workshop to non-traditional book arts audiences at locations such as community centers, public k-12 schools, community libraries or art centers.

**NOTE**: During this time of shelter-in-place and social distancing protocols, we encourage applicants to lead these workshops remotely. CBAA is working to provide resources to help our members shift to the online-teaching space, which you can find here. If you have specific questions about this, please don't hesitate to email us at programs@collegebookart.org.

HOW: to apply for the grant, please fill out the form below. CBAA will award up to 12 grants per calendar year on a quarterly basis. Grant recipients will receive $100 to to be used for supplies, a teaching guide and suggested supplies list, and assistance uploading finished student zines to the CBAA Rising Together Zine Archive website. Grant recipients will also receive the option of a free CBAA 2021 Student or Regular level membership.
