ARTIST STATEMENT

My goal is to influence others to think about how they are impacting their community in my artwork. My work has addressed subjects as diverse as the civil rights movement, traditional textiles from various countries, and protecting the environment. I am interested in any topic that can motivate people to empathize with others and think about how their decisions impact others.

I use various printmaking mediums in the artist books I create, such as block printing, relief printing, screen printing, monotype, & letterpress. I love incorporating multiple printmaking techniques and other mediums together. I love how each layer tells a story and creates a pattern in my work.
