Crane Giamo

ARTIST BIO

Crane Giamo works at the Book Arts Program and Red Butte Press at the University of Utah. He prints, binds, and makes for Delete Press, and By Voices. Crane's artists' books can be located under the imprint Pocalypstic Editions. He holds a MFA in Book Arts from the University of Alabama, a MFA in Creative Writing from Colorado State University, and a MA in Poetics from the University of Buffalo.(https://pocalypsticeditions.org/)


STATEMENT

Books give me opportunity to make ordinary language feel strange; in that sense they are liberatory. I see my books as uncertain and frantic markings of human articulation. They are performances where language is given contour as a material event. In the making process, emergence and reactionary modes of creating are key.
