Mills College, 2016

As part of College Book Art Association’s new initiative, Book Art Gives Back, Mills College is happy to announce a Bay Area Bindathon. Please join Mills students on campus on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, from 5-8pm, in CPM 106 to bind blank journals that will be used by under-served Bay Area populations such as prison classes, adult literacy programs and youth writing groups.

All experience levels welcome!  Here’s how you can participate:

  • help fold and sew journals (or learn how to make them)
  • bring materials (paper for journals, cover paper, colored linen thread, needles)
  • bring snacks for the students and the binders

And while you’re on campus, here are other things you can do:

  • tour the book art studios
  • view the student-curated exhibition in the Book Art Pocket Gallery*
  • view the exhibition of the books of Mills professor Julie Chen in the Olin Library
  • have dinner, beer and wine or coffee in the Tea Shop

Please note that parking on campus is free. CPM 106 is wheelchair accessible.
