• The Nominating Committee recommends to committee chair Steve Miller that Cynthia Thompson, Memphis College of Art, be appointed to the Communications Committee.
• The Nominating Committee also recommends the Communications Committee have at least five members that provide geographic and professional diversity as well as web site experience.

• The Nominating Committee has no recommendations to committee chair Cliff Meador for additional committee appointments, although the Nominating Committee recommends the Publications Committee have at least five members.
Meetings (Programs) Committee
The Programs Committee currently has four appointed members:
Phil Zimmerman (Chair)
Karen Wirth
Kathy Walkup
Kitty Maryatt
There is no limit to the number of committee members. Members of the committee shall be appointed from the CBAA membership by the committee chairperson, Phil Zimmerman. The Programs Committee received the following volunteers:
Michael Henninger
Bonnie O’Connell
Macy Chadwick
Steve Miller
Julie Chen
Dan Mayer
Marnie Powers-Torrey
• In addition to the volunteers, the Nominating Committee recommends Julia Leonard, Bonnie O’Connell, and Patty Smith be appointed to the committee by chair Phil Zimmerman.
Rationale: The Nominating Committee thinks this committee should have a larger membership due to the scope and complexity of its responsibilities, and that members should have geographic and professional diversity. The current committee has three members from the west and one from the Midwest. This is the only committee Bonnie O’Connell volunteered for, and her membership would add another Midwestern representative. In addition she has been involved in book arts education since the late 1970s, and has offered to host an annual meeting or conference. Since there is consideration for a future CBAA conference to be held in Iowa, Julia Leonard’s membership would be beneficial. Patty Smith from the University of the Arts would add a representative from the east coast.
Awards Committee
This ad-hoc committee was created at the annual meeting January 10-11, 2008. The Executive Committee appoints. There is no limit to the number of committee members.
The Nominating Committee recommends this committee be limited to five members in order to avoid split decisions on award issues.
Nominees:
Ruth R. Rogers (Wellelsey College, Chair)
Judy Harvey Sahak (Claremont)
Macy Chadwick (Academy of Art University, Oakland)
Jan Baker (RISD)
Ken Botnick (Washington University, St. Louis)
